Question Double T Saddlery

Have any of you ever owned a Double T Saddlery saddle or known of any one owning one? Are they good saddles? I have been looking for a good gaited horse saddle and would like some suggestions please.

I have wondered the same thing. and they look so comfy. Although I will spend 2-3 times as much money on a quality, comfortable saddle.

I have two Dixieland Gaited saddles - very well made, nice to look at - bought one new, and the other on Ebay - not priced as low as Double T of course.

Circle Y has come out with a saddle for gaited horses called the "Trail Gaiter" (I think). It is quite pricey, about $1900 US. Most of the info. about this saddle is on their website. There's a lot of saddle companies that are coming out with gaited horse saddles now. Check the websites of the saddle manufacturers and see if they have a gaited model and then cruise e-bay to see if there's any for sale.

Well I don't think that I have ever even owned a brand name saddle, so I didn't know where to start. I had checked out ebay but most of the gaited saddles were from Double T. I really don't want to kill my husband with a heart attack with some of the prices of saddles. Thank you all for the input. I will keep checking in on ebay.

Have you checked the Gaits of Gold site for saddles? There is also a forum where you might find a good used one.

Great idea Slim -- I keep forgetting about Gaits of Gold's website. That would be a great place to start looking for a gaited saddle. Also a good place to start a discussion about which one is best. . . .

You might also try Crest Ridge Saddlery...have no idea how much they run but they make gaited saddles, and will custom fit them.
