Saddle

Hi all I was wondering what your opinions are on simco saddles. I am looking at purchasing an older simco 15 inch saddle. I think it is close to 15 yrs old or more He wants $200.00 for it. It is in excellant shape with a rawhide tree.

Thanks Linda

They are very nice saddles IMO.

Simco makes a good middle line saddle. Just check it over and make sure it's in good shape and will fit your horse.

My experience with Simco has been questionable. We had a simco western trail saddle, and the tree was crooked and really messed up Rocket's back. I don't know if that was a manufacturer or previous owner error.

My Simco roper is probably 40 yrs old and is built tough. It hasn't even begun to wear. Besides fitting the horse, is a 15" seat big enough for you?

I am 5 ft 120 lbs. It seems to fit fine. My horse has pretty narrow withers and I tried the saddle over the weekend and it seems fine, although there is the same dry spots just behind the withers as with my other cheap saddle. I do have a professional choice pad with the extra padding by the withers. Are the dry spots a problem? What do you think?

Thanks Linda
