My pants always smell like...leather

I was just wondering if anyone has an answer to a question that has plagued me since i first got my saddle...

Every time I ride, I get off and my pants smell like leather. And it's not just a hint of a smell, it is a smell me from a mile away shindig. I clean my saddle about once a month with leather CPR and Lexol saddle soap, but the smell has never gone away. I was also thinking that could be because it is older, it is a mid 1970's Circle Y.

So, what's the problem? I wish I could smell like a saddle all day long. I love that leather smell. I want to sleep with my leather tack, that's how much I love the smell.

Too much oiling & cleaning makes the oil come off on your pants(causing the smell)....Well let me correct there is no too much....but that's the cause. Dry leather doesn't cause your pants to smell...If it bothers you let everywhere your in contact with dry out a bit. Also for some reason the oil causes jeans to break down faster & stitches to loosen. So let it dry up some you won't smell & you'll save cash on your jeans.

You could probably bottle that scent up and sell it.
