Question The Halter Sold! Final Update.

Went to the thrift store and picked this up.

What is it...and what is with the ribbons?

It looks like something a Saddlebred would wear, with those ribbons! A bridle of some sort?

Looks like some sort of hackamore, but I'm not sure where the heck you'd put the riens. You crack me up posting this, I can just imagine you walking around the store, looking and studing this, asking the clerk, buying it anyways, taking it home and postioning it just right to get a good pix of it so you could post it on here to find out what it is. I wanna know too now what the heck it is. Watch it be some kind of ... who knows, toy for people who like whips and chains?!?!

The ribbons are woven on to a plain leather or vinyl browband for decoration. It looks like they added rosettes and long ribbons at the sides for decoration as well.
Is it metal under the fleece? Since it doesn't look like there is anywhere to attach reins, I would say it is some sort of halter but if not

It is some sort of head piece.....what it is for, I have no Idea, but I would say it for saddlebreds from all the ribbons, but I don't know.

I am thinking draft horses.

I have seen Percherons shown in halters like those, but it looks like something is missing.

I bet it's some type of stud halter for show. The stud chain attaches to the right side, runs through the ring and down through the left side. Hope you didn't pay much for it as it's pretty fugly.

Well, that makes it sound like some kind of hackamore, but then it looks upside down for that. I guess the head stall and stud chain idea sounds quite likely for some kind of showing purpose??

The ribbon is wrapped around the browband...but the rosettes are attached! Not added on.

Maybe somebody bought it, then put it together all wrong and didn't know what to do with it after that so threw it into the resell box.
