Rope Halter DIY guide?

Anyone have directions on making a rope Halter? I used to know how to do it, and I tried doing one for a lady at work.. and I baffled myself because it's been years.

I used this site. I found it had te easiest to follow instructions and after a few practice rounds I could make the halter. Mine was usable but I still needed lots of practice!!!

Yes that is the best [free online] one out there!

I use the Fiador Knot and it does take time to learn but once you know it then you can make some very nice looking halters!

Did you get it figured out? That site is about the best one out there as far as showing how to tie it.

Also, I agree with drafty, if you're going to tie one tie the fiador it looks better and it fits on the horse better.

Ohh man. I bought my first rope halter from a guy in Cimmaron, NM, way up in the mountains. He was an old Indian guy that sat there and made halters all day out of a tack shop.

Good luck! I can't wait to see the final product.

I understood one had to have a good background in the use of profanity when attempting the first rope halter. Whoever said this was right. It definitely brings out the worst in a person.

I haven't gotten off my lazy butt to do it yet... keep forgetting to buy the rope at work! Maybe today since they cut my hours for the next couple weeks.

I felt that way after just reading the directions
