there goes my truck on the wrecker.....update, its fixed

I got one helluva deal on a truck! woohoo! Its a 2000 Chevy Silverado 2500, 3/4 ton, Triton V8, power everything, super clean, 8' bed (the camper shell will go when I have the gooseneck hitch put in), and only 50,000 miles. Some little old guy drove it around town and traded it in the other day for a little car. Bennie's buddy called about 5 minutes after the truck arrived and he hid it for me. I have driven little 4 cylinder cars forever. One, POWER!! yipes, jumping out into traffic was a treat! Two, its L-O-N-G but I didnt run over any curbs coming home.
I'm quite proud of my new truck and have been driving around all night.

yay!

Congrats on your new baby!

Now, a V8 I can only imagine how much gas that thing must bite just to fill it up, unless you have money and it doesn't affect you ....

anyways, have fun and drive safely!

well luckily I still have my Beetle. I put $25.00 of gas (at $3.45) and it moved from a quarter tank to ALMOST a half tank. eek. The dealership is going to fill it up for me tomorrow. I have a 6-mile commute, so even if I do drive it, it wont kill me.

And, I paid $10,500 for the truck. Cant go wrong.....!!

it gets better. my mom stopped driving and gave me her car, a 2005 ford focus with 35000 miles. i traded it in and they gave me 7000., so i actually only paid $3500. for the truck. it was a good day!!

I was awake at 4 this morning. I got to work way early so I could find a parking spot that I could get the big long thing in and out of.
I am reverse-challenged so this weekend Bennie is going to hook a little trailer to a riding mower and set up cones in his parking lot so I can learn to back up. I can barely back the Beetle, but I actually did pretty good in the truck last night. We will see how it goes once I try with the trailer, which will be lots of practice before I drive the whole thing with Miss Cleo in tow....

ScrapChick, my Mom has a truck like that except hers is the short box. . . whenever we have to haul a horse, I'm terrified that I'll run something over. It takes some getting used to. I still can't back up good though.

Congratulations on your truck purchase -- on another note we have a Ford 350 1 ton dually -- it to have to fill it up (has 2 gas tanks), but we only use it for hauling the trailer so it gets to sit and enjoy it's leisure time most of the time . We drive our more economical Kia Rio most of the time.
Good luck with the backing up thing -- I still won't back the truck & trailer up (or drive it for that matter).
