How do you read serial numbers on a Billy Cook Saddle

A lady I work with gave me a saddle that had been in her attic for a couple years- It was a billy cook.
Does anyone know how to read the numbers that are stamped under the fender?
It says "Billy Cook Maker Greenville Texas" stamped on the leather in like 4 or 5 places and the horn has a metal plate that says " Billy Cook Saddelry Greenville Texas so does anyone know if this is an original Billy Cook or a Simco/Longhorn Billy?

What are the numbers? The month and year plus catalog number are probably all in the numbers. Is it a 14" seat?

28th day of the 4 month, 1980. The other number is probably an inventory or catalog number. That style made it's appearance in the 70's as did that style of cinch ring. The laced cantle became the rage. I'm guessing this was advertised a single skirt barrel racer as they often had the hoofpick pocket.

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH SLIM. Is this a real Billy Cook or a knock off. Someone told me that if it did not say Oklahoma on it than it was made in Mexico.

I really doubt this saddle was made in Mexico as at that time saddles were mainly American made with good American tanned leather, mainly because of import duties which protected American workers.
