Stocking up the horse trailer/lq

Ok my list-making friends. Today we are going to clean the living quarters of our new trailer and then stock it up with necessary stuff.

Right now i have a pile on the couch with the basics.....
paper towels, paper plates, coffee maker, first aid supplies, OFF, tylenol, tums, pepto bismol, etc. I already have a full stock of traveling supplies for Cleo, right now just concerned with camping and living quarters stuff.

I am sure some of you got loaded up and off to your campground and thought **DANG IT*** I forgot to pack the _____________!!!

Tell me what your ___________ was.

For people, I'd pack some tylenol/ib profen. Whenever we travel is when my migranes come back. Also, I like to keep some form of entertainment...scrabble, monopoly, something to do if bored.

I have Tylenol, Aspirin, and Aleve....something for everyone.
I will throw some cards into my pile in case a game of spades pops up....since its the only game I know. Thanks for the entertainment idea.

Hair ties. A must. Yesterday I had my hair up in trash bag twist ties. a real Jefferson County fashion statement. Duct tape already in the pile.

....spatula.

I can't tell you how many times I've started cooking eggs and realized I had no spatula.

Are you planning on leaving Jack Daniels at home? I tho't he was good company. I think either tensor bandage or vet wrap (a few rolls) are a must incase a bad sprain or break needs to be stabilized.

Here are my two favorites.

Ketchup

Bailing Twine

I always forget to pack the ketchup so I keep the trailer stocked with restaurant packs.

Bailing twine comes in very handy for many things. I tend to save it off of the hay bales and keep it in a bag somewhere for when I need it.

Silverware!! I can't tell you how many times we have ended up "cutting" things with scissors!!

Cups, garbage bags, bandaids, zip lock baggies, tin foil, matches, a broom/dustpan...

Jack Daniels and Bennie fall under the entertainment category.

Got four new rolls of vet wrap in the pile.

A sharp pocketknife. I don't go anywhere without one. It's a nice slim one that easily rests in a front pocket of the jeans. I hope you have packed an extra halter, lead, cinch and bridle for Cleo. These things always break when least convenient.

Bennie doesnt leave the house without his gerber thing and his pocket knife. I leave needs for sharp objects up to him. I have halter/lead/cinch/saddle/bridle/buckets and dandy new shipping boots for miss Cleo. Plus oh so much more....

Got everything but dish soap. Good thought, pvf. The bed came with new sheets and pillow cases on all of the pillows, and the mattress is brand new and quite comfy. I will wash the sheets and I have a nice comforter that will look perfect, plus I am going to stick a sleeping bag up in storage in case it gets really cold, which, the odds of me being camping in cold weather are slim to none, but better to have and not need than need and not have.

Bennie asked if I needed the truck to move the stuff over to the trailer. I said no.....but....um.....now all of a sudden that might be a good idea.

pot and pans
pot holders
can opener
(I didn't think of dish soap until I seen the spatula..)
I would also maybe pack a few plastic dishes so that if you grill you can put the food on them sturdier than paper plates when dealing with hot food.

EXTRA Banamine, elctrolytes, and Bute for the horses.
I went on a really BIG trail ride 2 years back, and my friend's horse dehydrated horribly, and I was the ONLY person who had enough Banamine to SHARE with his horse. Take enough for you and someone else too.
Because IF you have to give yours up, to help someone else in need, then you can't GO, and you might have to turn around and come home. I did. Redboy

powdered gatorade works good to add to horses water especially if the water tastes different than what there used to..
