I think you did good. Your saddle looks identical to the blue Longhorn on here http://www.horsies.com/longhorn/barrelb.html and it's going for almost $1000. Plus, from the eBay pics, it looks like it has the name brand stamp on the latigo tie strap up front. I'd say, you did good!

I think you did good as well. It is a BC barrel saddle and they are not cheap I'd say at $400 with shipping on a saddle used once, is a great deal on this saddle!

I can get saddles at cost and I couldn't touch that saddle for $400, in fact I think my cost is somewhere around $1,100 for that saddle. So I'd say you got a good deal

I will reiterate that the metal tag is not on the seat, which one can see in the provided web sites. I don't believe that is a BC saddle but an off shore import. BC sells for almost $1000 and a very nice used barrel saddle would devalue very little. It's not hard to get a stamp made for less than $100. So one could stamp any name in the leather.

Knock off or not, I think you did good. What really matters is if you're happy with it anyway. If it fits you and your horse and is made well, then it's worth the price. Let us know when you get it! I'd love to see it in use!

They OWN Billy Cook.
I think she meant the pink saddle rack does not go with it.
Then who is THE Billy Cook reference? I know the rack is what the ad is referring to. I may be a little dense, but not that bad

Umm sorry Paint/QH but you asked why she could call it a Billy Cook. Even if it is a Longhorn Potts Billy Cook saddle it is still a BILLY COOK. I have had 2 of them and i do not believe the BS you hear that one is better. I can't tell the difference.

i cannot figure out exactly what you wish to know so maybe you can email the seller and ask them-it is not my saddle.

Gee Slim have never seen an offshore knock off-but that is a nice looking saddle to me
our knock offs come from Mexico...LOL
BUT That ain't one of those.

Sorry Tmom, wasnt sure if you were referring to my post or in general. I dont own a Billy Cook or a Longhorn saddle, so I cant tell the difference and didnt know the two were the same thing. It was mentioned that there are 2 different kinds of Billy Cook saddles. THE Billy Cook and the other Billy Cook. For someone who doesnt know what the difference is, of course a person like me would be confused.

Longhorn Potts bought the name and such years ago.
I have had both the TX and an OK saddle and no difference to me.
Then last year BC OK got popped with those 60 illegals working his plant..
Tssk makes you NOT want to give that weasel any money-ya' know?

If you look at this website and look at the last saddle on the page it is a BC without the metal tag on the seat~Sting Ray Barrel Saddle by Billy Cook.
