Question Question on washing a saddle pad

I know this is a stupid question, but I have a Diamond wool saddle pad, and wondering what to use on it to handwash it with? Well, I did buy woolite, for underneath it, which the only wool is underneath. But the top of it is synthetic material. What should I wash the synthetic material with? I was thinking about washing the synthetic with just liquid detergent, but I don't want to do the wrong thing, and have it ruined!! Thanks!!

I'm sure it would be fine to use the Woolite on the whole thing, and then you wouldn't have to worry about dish soap getting on the other side or anything. I believe Woolite is just a gentle detergent, so it should do the job on the synthetic too.

I think I would use the woolite on both sides, for simplicities sake if nothing else. I think it should do the job well, and though it is a bit more pricey than the dish detergent, it should do the job better. Your pad is worth it.

Woolite is good. Go easy on how much you use as there is the rinsing part to consider. I use an unused toilet plunger (I bot for this) and throw the pad in the bathtub, in about 4" of slightly cool water. The plunging action works the dirt out with no damage to the pad. When drying, make sure it's in the shade in a nice breezy spot. If an english pad, you won't need the plunger and a large plastic tub will work. Basically wash like a wool sweater.
