saddle care

I just purchased a 1971 Simco black leather saddle and it is in pretty good shape. I've got it shined up and it is wonderful. I am a little worried however that the leather is getting too dry. The skirt on one side is starting to curl up, not bad, but starting to.

I've cleaned it with leather cleaner and conditioned it. What else should I do to it?

I would just keep cleaning and conditioning it. What did you use on it?
I like to use a saddle soap and then lexol conditioner. Recently, my daughter left her saddle out in the pouring rain...I found it afterwards and brought it in...it's panels are now lifting up even though we've conditioned it, I am thinking to keep conditioning it and put a bungy strap around it to help hold it back down (to 'retrain' it kinda like people do to the stirrups)..

Don't oil your saddle. It is lacking moisture so another saddle soaping is in order. By panels are you referring to the square skirts?

Why not oil it?
