right price for saddle?

so, since my english saddle doesn't fit Layla, I've decided to sell it. I got it over five years ago, and used it for only one year. It's a 15" seat brown saddle, that I'm selling with irons, leathers, the girth (cannot tell you off hand its size) and green saddle pad. Everything is in excellent condition. We don't have the bridle at our place, it was cob sized, and in excellent condition, too, elsewise I'd be selling it with it. We got everything (saddle, pad, leathers, irons and girth for 3 and a 1/4). I'm asking $300 even for it. Is that price too high for the saddle and everything with it? I've only had it for sale for about two weeks, on two different sites, and haven't had a bite yet. Just wondering if you guys think I'll be able to sell it for that much...

What's the brand of the saddle? This could be a determining factor in people's opinions regarding price.

Too, a 15" is pretty small for an adult, most taking a 17" or 18". The gullet measurement may be a factor, too.

Are you measuring it like a western saddle seat? On english measure from the nail to the center of the cantle. Like the Divine one says, most adults use a 17 or more.

The brand will play a big factor in the price.

I'm selling the saddle as a children's saddle, and it is called Imperial by Cavalier...the girth is by Cottage Craft, and the pad is either Cottage Craft or Cavalier...I know a lot of people around my area know the Cavalier name. Also, I measured the saddle from the cantle to the top of the pommel. going all the way to the front, it would be a 16", but I remember when we bought it that we spent a long time finding the right size for me (I was much smaller then, apparently! ) and as I do recall, 15" was what it was.

I'd sell it for at least $300- $400. I think you could probably get that much for it considering it is still in very good condition and is a good brand of saddle.

Your price is right in line in Canada. Don't worry about no bites, Ontario still has cold and snow. As soon as it feels like spring there should be some interest. Just make sure it is spotlessly clean before you take pics or show it to prospective buyers.
