How do I measure my horse for a Weatherbeeta blanket??

Their website is bit confusing. It says something like "measure all the way to where the tail starts, but not all the way to the tail". Huh??!! Isn't where the tail starts and not all the way to the tail the same place??
I have heard the Weatherbeetas run large, so I want to get a precise measurement before I buy one.
So.... for the weatherbeeta blankets.... tell me precisely what two points on my horse I measure between to get his size. I think point A is the middle of his chest, and then I run the tape measure along his barrel, but then what do I call POINT B???
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Point B would be the fat point of his butt right before you get to the outside edge of his tail. I have a weatherbeeta and I found the size ran "true" He measures 78 and he wears a 78. And, by the way, I have the Taka with the freestyle shoulders and love it. I have nothing but praise for the blanket.

Weatherbettas run very large!!! Say your horse measures a 74" I'd get a 72". It depends on the build of the horse. If your horse is short and stocky they will probably run true but if they are a slender build it will be to big like my mare was. She measured to be a 68" but wears a 66".

It means around the rump at the biggest point just before you come to the tail.

I always just measure from the center of the chest to the center of the tail, and then order a couple of inches smaller for a weatherbeeta. My horse measures an 82, and his 81 Weatherbeeta works really well on him. All blankets have quite a bit of adjustment room in them, and you don't want it oo big, so I normally (with Weatherbeeta) order whatever the next size down is from what my horse measures. This method has always worked well for me! Saxon is made by the same people as Weatherbeeta so if you order a Saxon, use the same method. Other than that, I usually go up a size from what they measure. My daughter's pony is a 58, and she has size 60 blankets and sheets and they work perfectly, they are Pessoa brand. Pessoa seems to run a little small? I love Weatherbeeta, but I have never found them in pony sized. Maybe they are out there and no-one around here stocks them in those sized.

Measure to the center of the “butt cheek”. If you’re in between sizes, go with the smaller size.

My mare is about 15.2 and fits perfectly into a 75, but if I had measured all the way to the center of her tail she’d measure 78”. I also have a Taka and love it!
