Clippers, anyone??

I am looking to get some good clippers for christmas, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations?? I would like to be able to do a full body clip, or at least a trace clip without destroying my clippers, so I do need some heavy duty ones for the thick fuzz that my guys get up here in the north pole.... I also need to know where one might come by these clippers. Stores in Canada would be great, but I'll take them from anywhere
Thanks!!!

My hubby got me the cordless recharble ones for Christmas last year and they are worth every penny he paid...great for young'uns when they are started with clippers, as well as older horses that you can clip quietly anywhere. I have clipped up to five horses with them, they have an additional charged battery, so you could do a whole herd before running out of power. I believe they are Whals....(did I spell that correctly )

I've used both older and newer versions of the Oster Clipmaster body clippers, and love them. They have the old-style wide flat head on them. Oster also makes a variable speed that's very nice as well, the low speed is great for youngsters. I've used some of the newer, angle-head clippers, and found them more difficult to use. Harder for me to get a good smooth clip, and spent more time back-tracking to get missed spots.

As far as where to get them, I bought my current clippers off Ebay. I didn't pay much for them, but had figured to have them serviced before I used them and had added that into the price I was willing to pay. They were used, but not much, and I've had several years of good hard use out of them. They clip very smooth, run fast, don't heat up, and leave no tracks.

I've never tried clipping a horse before, but I've clipped some mighty big dogs in my time! I had a set of Oster A5's, and found them to be a decent clipper. I now have an Andis Super AGC 2 speed and love it (although it does heat up the blade fairly quickly on the higher speed) I probably wouldn't recommend them for a full body clip, but for a partial clip and stuff like ears and whiskers, they'd be great! I've heard good things about the Oster Clipmasters for bigger jobs

Almost forgot! Check out Pet Supply House, they carry different kinds of clippers and blades. If it's alright to post their website, it's www.petsupplyhouse.com (I can remove the address if anyone has a problem with it, no problem ) They're in Guelph, if that helps at all

A5's will do a body clip but will take some time and leave clipper marks. For good body clipping nothing beats the clipmasters by Oster. I have the variable speed and love them. Can be pricey and really only work for body clipping. But the A5's and a set of extra wide 10 blades will be multi purpose and more reasonable in price!
