Billy Cook saddle

Thanks to rivervu2 I got a lovely BC saddle. Unfortunately, rather than the 16 inch they said it was, it is 18 inches and tooooooooooooooo long for a short back arab. It's an older saddle with lovely acorn and maple leaf tooling and is dark oil in color. According to the embossing on the stirrup leathers it was made in Greenville, TX. Someone mentioned in the past that the older BC's were well/better made than more recent ones. Would this be one of those? Any help/info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance...
