Shipping Boot Sizes

I've been trying to find some shipping boots for my boy Pride, but the sizing part keeps throwing me off so I thought I'd ask you guys for help.

Pride is exactly 14.2 at the withers--but he's got little legs! (Slightly high withers, I guess.) Some shipping boot places say he'd be a cob size, some say pony size, and others don't provide size specifications so I can't even guess. Has anyone had to find a size of shipping boots for their 14-something, and if so, what size?

I'd rather boot than wrap since I'm not the best at wrapping, and the people at my barn don't wrap ever, and Pride doesn't move around much when trailered. I just don't want his legs to get banged up.

(I'm looking at the Masta Travel Boots: http://www.doversaddlery.com/product...7&ids=32112861)

I would say cob size. If your buying from a local tack store you can easily return them if the wrong size and get smaller or bigger ones if needed.

Also good choice on not wanting to wrap his legs for trailering. Not just because your not very good at wrapping or because it's very time consumming and a PITA more because wraps are very dangerous to a horse if they happened to unwrap while shipping

I have yet to find a pair of shipping boots that fits well, stays on during shipping, and that they don't walk on the backs of and pull them off. If you find some, I would love to know about them!

I've had ones that fit well and didn't come off during shipping but have never found any that the backs don't get walked on.

I met a women several years ago that made costom shipping boots for her horses that fit like a glove stayed on didn't get walked on etc I'm suprised she never went into business making and selling them for others she probably would have made really good money off it

I would probably go with Pony size. I generally go with Medium or Cob size for my 16 hand plus Thoroughbreds.
