TSCA State Show Results *pics Attn:BornToRide!

I know there is more than one person on this forum that shows for the TSCA (Tennessee Saddle Club Association). So this thread is for the results/pics from the state show!!!

So here's how I did (pics coming as soon as they load)...

Mac was such a good boy! We took 6th out of 30 in Halter Geldings. He's very consistant about setting up and such so he was definately on his game. Oh, and I showed off my home-made showmanship outfit. Not too shabby....

(BTW that's a fake forelock (his is pitiful) that I made last night out of somebody else's tail that i dyed )

Next, was Bridlepath huntseat. I could go on and on about the drama with this one. But All I can say is TC was doing soo amazing in warmups, but he was a total idiot. However, I found out after the class that he has a hole in his cushion packing (it's almost like a pad) right in the middle of his frog, so I am thinking a rock got stuck in his foot in the class. So, my AQHA world class Amature HUS horse got 12... out of 12 . Omg, as I am posting pics I just realized I forgot to wear my gloves ...

Bad position on my part (new boots aren't broken in to keep heel down) but I love this pic, it's just a cool angle... (eeps it also makes me look like my leg is too far forward, geeze I needed to wake up a little!!)

So here's the kicker.... Western Pleasure. Mac has gone through two trainers, neither of which could get him to lope (slowly). He's got the most awesome jog, but no lope. Well after the second trainer pretty much threw out his hip (even though she used NH methods) I pulled him out. In two weeks I have gotten him to lope!!! Unfortunately, he developed this bolting habbit whe a horse gets too close to his rear (too many accidents with people that don't know how to pass a horse). I am trying to make a long story short, but it's not working . Anways, after two weeks of consistant riding Mac and I have a really strong bond. Today in the ring he was PERFECT! If a horse got too close to his butt and he got nervous all I had to do was tell him to calm down with a little bump and he would go back to perfect form.

So we lineup for callbacks, and I make callbacks. I am put back on the rail. Mac thought he was done and when he realized he was going to the rail instead of towards the gate he gave a little squeal/(almost rear). Lol but once again. I put him on the rail and backed him up a few times while we were waiting for the first heat callbacks to come back in and he got back to work.

Well, he made it perfectly through the callbacks... I'm waiting in line, they call honorable mention... 10th... 9th.... Then I am thinking "oh crap, there are 16 ppl in the finals and there is no way I beat all these good horses." 8th...7th ME!!! Mac took 7th! I was so happy I was crying! If you guys have ever read mac's story you would know how far he has come!!! And I was so proud. A few years ago there were these sisters. They were the "M" girls... I wished I could beat them one day. And today I beat one (who took 8th) and the other took 6th... I was so happy.

Now, understand this... I GOT 7th OUT OF 40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was soo proud! I felt like it was my training, my hard work that got me here. Afterwords, the last trainer that I took mac to was commenting on how nice and collected he was. She was so surprised that I was able to maintain that slow pace while still driving with his hind.... Hmpf... Who needs a trainer?

Okay, so last was trail..... Last year I placed 9th so I figured I was sure to do better. Well I was so tired and Mac was so tired.... We waited in line too long (didn't keep mac focused). It started lightning and thundering out. I really didn't want to get rained on and my rushing attitude ran straight through mac. We did all the obsticles, But mac tried really hard to lope through all the jogging parts. So needless to say we didn't place. But I didn't care. I am so happy about western pleasure I didn't care!!!!!!

These are pics from last year, something for your eyes to look at lol.

So, that's my shortened version of the whole day. I can't wait to see everyone else's results!! Speed events are tonight, tomorrow and sunday.

Yes, I lOVE that picture, too! It really shows the diversity of the stock horse. That appy behind me ended up switching with me (he took 5th). He was soo nice, he had a huge rear and a very trim neck. Mac's neck is thinner than his, but he's got a lot of flab lol.

YAY!!!!
I watched your halter class! I remember seeing you and your horse and thinking you guys should definitely place!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!

Gus and I did pretty good!!!
Took it easy through the poles, I was more concentrating on leaving them all standing then hauling through them and more than likely knocking over. We ran a 24...took a 23 to get into placing.

In barrels we ran a clean run with a 18.4. I wish now I would have asked him for some speed cause we may have placed!! Oh well, always next year. I just wanted to leave the barrels standing this year. It took a 16.9 to get in to placings.....but still a good run, and he did everything I asked.

Pics coming soon

Only thing I hated was running my horse so late at night....I was exhausted, and I didn't run barrels until three in the AM!!!!

Yeah, I remember when I did the barrel racing, it was nuts staying up that late. They run you in the order you place in your club, so all the 1st places go first, then the 2nds, then the 3rds and so on. I know a lady that goes to 3 different clubs, and even though she does all events (including pleasure and walking horse) she chooses the club she wants to ride with based on where she is placed the highest so she doesn't have to stay up so late.

Unfortunately for people like me it doesn't matter what club i go to, if I had a barrel horse I would probably be in last place
