Olympics!

Apologies if there is already a thread on this! Has anyone gotten a chance to watch any of the Olympic equestrian events? I saw a few minutes of the cross country live yesterday (online) but it was a bit of a bummer to watch because there weren't any announcers and I wasn't familiar with most of the horses/riders I saw. Who are you routing for? Seen anything spectacular yet? What is your favorite equestrian event in the Olympics?

I love the show jumping.

I haven't seen any of it yet. No one's called me to watch it "with" me. I can't wait to see the dressage though. I love the jumping, but always end up holding my breath through each course from beginning to end.

Sorry dressage was & is done with. I watched my tivo'd 2 different 2 - 3 hr sessions of 3 day eventing. It was good, although the USA team didnt do so good I think they were either 5th or 7th from the last one that I had seen. First USA rider fell off her horse, cause he hit his leg & hoof on one of the rides. I watched 3 different falls & am so glad that no one got seriously hurt. Try ck-ing out youtube.com and see if you can find any on there. I am sure that someone put some up.

slamberson, you can still see the dressage online at NBCOlympics.com, click on Equestrian and it will take you to the videos!

But when I was watching the 3 day eventing they were giving totals of who placed where from the day before Dressage events. maybe they did them & gave them there placements for it, but are showing them later, again.

Weird, if that isnt it, then what Dressage events where they talking about and what gave them there placements?

Have you gone to the NBC.com website and look under the Olympics area? Or do you have direct TV? cause you can look it up under the name of XXIX and you will see all the listings.

That was the EVENTING dressage and a much lower level than the actual dressage discipline itself. They do not perform anywhere near to the difficulty that the dressage horses compete at.

The real Olympic dressage dates are Aug. 13-14, 16 and 19.
