What should our next HT show be?

Here's a couple ideas.... Feel free to vote for the category you would like to see next, and you can also add suggestions for future classes as well

Darn Cascy, and I wanted to win the big booty class! Sheesh, that one was in the bag...

BTW- Who is going to judge the gaited class? The only reason I ask is because if its open, then they all have to be judged by their own breed standard. Most of us only know one or two. And I know I'll be voting for Foxtrotters, just as other gaited people will vote for their breed. See? So are you planning on doing a different breed each time? Just a thought.

I would also love to see some classes for specific breeds - say arabs, or minis.. perhaps with an explination of what to look for to assist people in judging. That same logic could be applied to gaited, reining, dressage, etc.. Not only a fun way to see all the beautiful horses that people own on here, but also a way for many of us to learn about the different breeds and disciplines..

What do y'all think..

How would be going about judging a performance class? (Like gaited, HUS, WP, ETC) A short video or just pics? Because It is always really hard to tell what a horse is actually capable of doing from a picture..

What about an English/Open (gaited) Halter class? Or a hunter model class??

AHH too many choices!

Great Idea!

I really had no idea how to judge the last class, and I would also be at a loss for a gaited class.

I would absolutely love to learn what to look for, and especially WHY I am looking for that (why it is a standard for that breed and how it affects their performance)!

You are doing an awesome job, Casey! Thank you, this is really fun!

Yeah! We English/dressage people need love too.

Supposedly, my horse started out in WP but I brought him to the dark side and we are going to try to do some dressage shows next year.

Out of the list I think a color class could be fun, but that is because I can work with the pictures I have given that my horses are 10 hours away!

I think a color class would be fun,
but you would need to have
a class for soilds and a class for patterns(?)paints or appy.

The way a local club does their color classes here is a paint/pinto class and then an "all other color breed" class. It works out great!

how about performance horse halter? Look for an athletic horse built to be a good all arounder.. then almost everyone could participate.

another idea... along with the halter "show"... we could do performance shows... we could do jumping equitation, western equitation, western pleasure? we could even do youtube videos, although I dont know if enough people could post them to make it worth while.
