Mighty Show Pictures

Mighty and I had our first show this week, we had 2 days of 4-H classes, and 2 days of open classes. She did so well for it being her first show ever, no spooks or balks, she was a trooper. I only have pictures of the 4-H show right now, I will try to track down the ones from the open show with me in my really nice shirt to post too.

OH! But first, 2 pictures from the parade. We went as a 4-H club and we were SOAKED before it even began, we were waiting in the lineup for about an hour when we had one of the hardest rains I have ever seen here. So when these pictures were taken we were soaked, but almost done the route. We were also very chilled by this time and were asking people on the street if they were willing to lend us any jackets and/or alcoholic beverages

(dont worry, the 'we' is my leader and myself, both legal drinking age) the rest of the kids were on the truck float.

Something is funny I guess??

Congratulations! He's gorgeous and looks so relaxed in the ring.

I was wondering the same thing about the outfits--does each 4H club dress alike?

lol, yes he is a she, my mare Mighty.

And as for the matching shirts yes each 4-H club has their own colors and shirts. Our club also has matching headstalls, saddle pads, and breast collars, as well as hay bags, bridle bags, saddle stands and name plates. There are stall decorating contests so the more 'uniform' you can look the better. It also helps with the 'Parade of clubs' and 'Musical Ride.'

Great pics. 4H is wonderful. I grew in the 4H world with my horses and to this day still very close to my 4H friends. My 4H mom even married me 4 yrs ago !!

We still all ride together. Enjoy this time of your life. It wil leave alot of fond memories and hope you remain as close to your friends today as I have.

Thanks everyone, she was a trooper that's for sure, no major spooks and our only totally flopped class was reining, but that was first thing the second morning and she was not happy to be out yet.
