AQH Show pictures.. from the fair

Fancys First Show Ever

Well today was the first show of the week long fair.
Today was the Quarter horse show
Tommorow is the open.
Thursday is the Color show
Friday is the youth
And saturday is the Youth SPeed

Im doing all but the Color

I have some pictures.

I placed 4th in halter out of 6 horses.
And 3rd is Western Horsemanship out of 3 horses haha.

Fancy has only been at the trainer for 2 weeks.. and after the fair she goes back for 2 more week.s

Im pretty mad the Arena is ROCKS and sand... and Im uncertain if i want to do the speed events.. i mean is it really worth it ? I dont want to come home with a lame horse! she was already tripping and stepping on rocks in my classes .

OH!! and i was very mad.
Fancy is a reg. Quarter horse.. i have papers.
right before i was about to go into my halter class i noticed this lady was looking at me and she said.. is that a paint?
Beacuse fancy has one white spot on her left side.. its very small but its there.. She was reg. with "Undesirable marks" and i told the lady no she is Reg. Quarter horse and she said " well she should be a reg. paint"

and later i walked by and she started talking to someone about how AQHA must have started to lower there standards with lettting in horses?!?!?!

Fancy was bred by a man who is on the AQHA Board and owns a Breeding farm that only breds Quarter horses. Her moms a QH and her Dads a QH all regestered. She was regestered when she was born by the guy. and sold when she was 2.... She has 4 white socks and a blaze so its very unliley that she wouldnt get a little color on her stumic and underneath she has a few white spots.. SO WHAT?! Its the fair.. its not like im at a AQHA show.. I just found it very rude...

She wouldnt Square up

But i kept trying

He moved me from 5th to 4th after she finally started to get it right.

I wasnt in a very good mood after that lady was rude to me

Miised my english class!!! me and my Aunt both.. she was so mad

shes a very pretty mare. i hate it when people are rude like that. you can clearly tell shes AQHA. paints have a different look to the than qh. shes very pretty and looks very happy

I agree, very pretty mare and great pics !!

I can see the rocks in the arena. That would scare me in the speed events, chance bruising.

Love your halter/WP outfit !! Black chaps would look stunning, esp with that pad.

Wow that mare has gotten some chrome! She is absolutely gorgeous! Her white spots are nothing, find a sharpie that kind of matches her color or some hair dye. :-P

I bet that lady was rude because she was jealous.

A different look?

I was wondering how long it was going to take to start seeing the spotted QH's at shows. And I was wondering what the fallout was going to be like.

PFS, you have a gorgeous mare. She looks very fancy decked out in her huntseat gear. Dont let the woman picking a fight get to you. She obviously has some issues she needs to work out on her own time.

Your horse is very sharp looking, def an show stopper IMO. Nice build, and plently of new 'flair'.

IF you get bored of her, and think she just isn't up to what your doing, send her my way!! haha

I agree. NOTHING makes those people madder than when you laugh at them

Maybe it is small of me, but it makes me feel good to laugh in the face of the mean and RUDE people in this world.

Your mare is stunning. That woman was just mad because she knew you would probably beat her horse. That just shows how small SHE is. Your horse is lovely.

I have to agree with the rest.. there are some very rude and jealous people out there who think it is their business and right to make those comments.. Ignore - that mare is stunning.. and you two look awesome together..

You know, many breeders are now seeking horses that are double registered, and I'm sure your mare would have been a couple of years ago.

There was a lot of resistance on the members when the AQHA let up on the white rule and obviously that woman was one of them.

And then you get those who run around saying all a paint is is a QH with more white....which is not 100% true at all.

While some paints do have a certain look (seen more in older style tobianos) typically many of the paints today do posess better balanced bodies and nicer heads thanks to acceptable outcrosses.

Your mare looks fine-you just need to polish up on the standing. Looking at your pictures I can guess that the ones who placed in front of you very likely didn't show in any performance classes???

Oh pish QHs and Paints came from the very same pool of horses.
Pretty Fancy I do not think she was talking about it like the way you took it.
QHs used to NOT accept horses that HAD Paint characteristics...now they do. If a QH has 2 QH parents-regardless of color they are now QHs.
some QH folks are still upset about that

It is a new rule change and will take some people awhile to get used to it.
I honestly think it did not have a thing to do with your horses "looks",just the belly spot and high whites.

You know, there are many double registered paint and quarter horses out there. I saw this one horse that was CLEARLY a paint horse, I wanted to buy him so bad because he was a registered qh. That lady was clearly misinformed about the breed.

I am sorry you missed your class. Sometimes we just can't be fast enough. Good luck at the rest of your shows!

You have lovely mare there. You will find rude people where ever you go no matter what your horse looks like. I had a pair of ladies point blank ask me why I would bring my "scruffy little pony" (Regal's Momma)to the AQHA show. I said because she can jump better than your horse. And she did!! They soon changed their tune.
