So 2 weeks tomorrow (Sat.), Danny and I will be making our way to our first show. It's just a back yard show at one of the local field days. We will be doing a halter class, not sure about any others. They are making all the classes either in hand or riding, so the younger horses can be shown in others. I can't wait, we have been working every night lunging and doing some in hand stuff. It's going to be a blast no matter if we place or not. Either way I am going to make it a good time for my boy. I will have someone taking pictures also.
If anyone has any tips, I'm all ears.
Update:
So Danny and I had our first show today. I was worried about him not getting on the trailer seen as how he hasn't been on one since the people I bought him from brought him to his new home. After a little while and looking at the trailer his front feet went on, and then his back and off we were to the show.
We got there early and he stood on the trailer like a champ. We only did halter and that was the first class of the day. Got him ready and off the trailer, we walked in the ring before the class just so he would know everything was fine. There were 5 signed up for the class but it was only Danny and I and 2 others. So we took 3rd out of 3. The ribbon was a plus as I was going in with an open mind. So all in all the day was a blast and I am so proud of my boy. As soon as I get the pics from my friend I will post them.
Here's the pictures, sorry they are so big I had to scan them in.
