I went to my first show!

Yesterday I hauled my little mare to our first show! It was so much fun. My daughter showed for a long time, now she has graduated and going off to college in the fall

So.......I thought I would give it a whirl.

I threw together a show outfit and off we went. Did green horse/green rider class and did great-1st and 2nd! My mare is a trail horse. She is 8 years old and did some team penning with the man that owned her before me. My daughter has worked on getting her collected and round. She just packed me around the ring with my daughter coaching from the rail.

I had so much fun visiting with everyone as well. I would like to 3 or 4 shows a summer. I was asked if I had "caught the show bug" I'm not sure.........I think I liked it just as well as horse camping, trail riding, drill team, whatever. I really love doing anything horse related. But now I know how hard my daughter worked all those years! It is hard to get the horse ready, yourself ready and pull it all together.

Yay! Good for you! That's really awesome how well you did too! Perhaps because you have a great coach?

I have to live vicariously through those who do show since my horse is currently lame and not really of show quality...

Nynx........I am sorry about your horse. I hope he gets better soon! Mine really isn't show quality either. I guess the whole class was comprised of the same kind of horses and us "over 45" year old newbies.

As far as pictures......I am probably the only one left in the world without a digital camera. I still get my film developed. hahahaha. A friend took a couple. I will see about getting them sometime.
