Well I did go afterall/pictures

In a earlierpost/thread I was trying decide whether to go to show or not. Between show costs & thinking my filly was not ready, too unlevel/akward growing stage. Also wondering if I should just take that time & money toward her under saddle training instead.Well the show bug got the best of me...&I decided to go just to treat myself & with no expectations from her to do anything at the show.My last minute decision gave her only about 3 weeks prep from being pulled from the pasture.Well it was good to get out & I ended up pleased with how she did.She likes the showing thing so she was well behaved. She didn't wow them but still think she looked ok & the judges did give her a decent look not the ole walk by that you sometimes get,so I was happy with that. She did pick up 1 point in her 2yr old mare class.overall in her age division got a first & 3- 2nds.The Amateur classes for mares is big 4-5point classes alot of the time. She got pulled from the wall at least so I was happy enough with that. I took a pic on the show grounds & then some back at home before she got dirty & I turned her back out to the pasture. My focus for her now is to get her going under saddle & hopefully I can ride her in a show next year. It's been a LOoooNG time since I've done that so I'm excited about the idea of that but nervous at the same time.

Another new thing for me at the show was taking my dog Ben.Always wanted to take him but wonder how he would behave & if we could manage having both dog & horse to worry about at a show.He is a 2 yr old Mini aussie that is a real people dog so figured he'd do well with all the attention which he did.He is use to alot of freedom, wasn't too use being on leash that much & never been tied up or crated before.Well the leash part went fine he was basically on it the whole time & liked going for walks & through the barn He was tied up at the trailer but someone was always there with him.I should have tried leaving him alone at the trailer tied up but never did, wish I had now as never know how he'd be unless i tried. Was afraid he would just sit & whine as he has to be with his people.Dogs weren't alowed in arena area only outside & in barns so never got to go watch to many classes as we took him with us everywhere. Only time he was alone is when he stayed in the trailer during my classes. He was well behaved but I did feel more restricted with him there, like babysitting a child....One thing I did notice with him is he didn't want to do his business took him to open grassy areas, trees etc no GO.Just saw him relieve himself once{a long one, lol} was a bit concerned about it but he didn't seem stress about it. Has anyone found their dog be like that when they are in a new place???. He went as usual as soon as we got home.

I was looking at her primarily as a western pleasure horse. She is more bred & looks that way.Want her to be my Amature horse so will want her to do some other stuff like trail & HUS. I never really thought she had as good of movement for English as I hardly see her move out,she is a lazy girl, lol. After we got home from the show she was running about looking for the other horses so actually had more spunk to her, lol. After I saw those pics of her I thought wow she actually looks to have some stride to her so maybe she woun't be so bad as I thought for my HUS classes.

Congratulations! Wow, she looks great. Just think how she would have looked if you had really planned on going...I bet you'd have won everything. Glad you had a good time.

LOL sounds just like my mare. If she had a little more umm "ambition" she could look beautiful in HUS. But alas, she is lazy and has no go.
Anyways, your filly is gorgeous and congrats on the show.
