Went to a Show! (pictures too)

After not being able to go to the Horse Sale yesterday, a friend (who was going to take his horse to the sale) and I decided to attend the show going on at Canterbury in Newberry, FL. It was an NSBA/IBHA show. Lots of people competing that day!

Anyways here are some pictures of the parts of the show I was able to watch:

Halter Mares:

Halter Weanling Fillies:

Color Class (the dun colt in the very front won 2nd place, and boy was he marked well! He also won Halter Weanling Stallions):

Color Class (pictured Mollys Pardner owned by Y Knot Ranch being judged, won 1st place):

Color Class (look at all the grullo/as that where showin!, the woman on the right in the red was showing a dun filly sired by Pardner, won 4th):

Dressage Schooling (walked to another arena and took this picture of a young girl and her horse, I later talked with her, she scored in the 60s):

Yearling Non Pro Longe Line:

Here a man warming up his gelding in the arena during lunch break:

Just people warming up on the cross country course:

I had tons of fun watching everyone compete. I later went to Ocala and to the Livestock Pavillon, only to see horses being auctioned off (and they were going for high prices too, most seem to sell for around 4k), and turned around to leave, otherwise I might have been too tempted to purchase! The horses were all very nice looking, well taken care of. So it was one of the better auctions.

Sorry the pictures arent too great, .

Looks like some nice horses turned out! We've shown against Y Knot ranch up here in IL - they have a big rig and run a lot of miles! Their stallion has some awesome dun factor too!

Yeah Im real good friends with Brenda at Y Knot, she used to own my app colt before too! She breeds some nice horses, and I just love the temperment on her stallion, he's so quite and gentle! Personally I think the weanling filly sired by Mollys Pardner had better color than he did and should have placed 1st. She had tons of markings (striping, very little white, definitely a show stopper) and wonderful conformation. Even Brenda said it was a shame she got 4th . But of course its always the judges decision.

I had a wonderful time at the show, its been a while since I had attended a 'breed' show (APHA, PtHA, IBHA, AQHA, etc). I believe that there is another show either this weekend or next, I think a Paint horse show. Not completely sure. I will probably attend that one as well. So more pictures are to be expected!
