3D Jackpot today

Tonight we are taking my sister who is going to be riding Togan to a local saddle club. Nothing new for either of them, except their company. We are also taking my coming 4yo App filly, Dezi, just to haul her out and ride around. It will be her first time going to something like this. She wont be competing of course but it will be interesting to see how she behaves. Also coming along is my good friend/trainer's palomino App stallion, Goldie. He wont be competing either and he has never been hauled anywhere.

Yep- that is the sort of thing I do w/ the young ones- sometimes I exhibition them as well.

It went awesome! Not a very good turn out, there were only about 30 riders. My sister ended up having to compete in Open instead of Youth. It was her first time riding Open level. Anyhow I am proud of them both, she ran 17.910. A little slower than what Togan usually runs but tonight he just didnt seem to really have that edge he usually has. Cant say I blame him, at 21 he's been running for a long time now. Might just really be getting burned out, need to get my sister a new barrel horse.

Im so freakin' proud of my filly though. She was great! She never so much as batted an eye at anything. Very quiet and rode around the place like she's been doing it for years. Ive never come across a better minded youngster, period. My mom was the one riding her around. Dezi was so unfazed at everything she was literally falling asleep while tied up at the hitching post near the arena. It was hilarious.

And of course my friend's stallion wasnt so bad either. A bit talkative and excited at first but he calmed down after a while too. His worst habit was "dropping"

when others got too close. Have to learn not to do that silly boy! Save that for breeding goof ball.
