The National Drive, KMHA National Show, NBHA show

Just back from a week in Kentucky. Got to say it looks a lot like Pa in places. Granted we have way more dairy cows and less white fences and black boards.

Saw a National Barrel Racing show on Sunday in a place called Powderly Ky. Looked like it was a bit show. Pretty neat that they use inmates to set and reset the barrels. Lots of nice horses there.

Went to the Kentucky Horse Park on Wednesday. A bit of a dissapoint. The "parade of breeds" had 6 horses in it. Not even a Saddlebred or a Kentucky Mountain horse.

Watch some of the National Drive and attended a clinic on Long lining. That was quite interesting but it was very chilly. Anything from little mini to drafts were out about driving. Some easy entry carts but a lot of marathon carriages.

Thursday morning caught the beginning classes of the Kentucky Mountain Horse show. Just halter classes. We had to catch a plane out of Louisville so couldn't stay to see the riding horses.

It was a nice week away but I was glad to be home to my own horses.
