Vetrolin detangler/conditioner. Takes far less time than cowboy Magic to detangle bad knots and the smell is great! This is the best product I have found in years!

Arabcowgirl-

On the Arab muzzles we always started with a good clip/razor job and then wiped on baby oil from the carefully clipped eyes on down and added a gob of whatever face shine gunk we had on hand at the time. Usually it was Ultra brand though it really doesn't matter just make sure it's clear.

But the clip job is the key to a shiney nose.

Thanks so much. Buttercup thinks she is really big too! We brought one of my mini geldings over today and had one person to hold her and I held my gelding. They stiffed of each other and then Paco (gelding) started to smell her backend and she jarred (sp) his jaws Needless to say, Paco kept his distance after that Warning coming from Paco..."she may be cute but she sure can make your head spin around!"

Shampoo: I use Suave on mine. Cheap and effective. For light horses I apply Cowboy Magic Green Spot Remover, rinse, then use Rio Vista Hi-Ho silver or White N Brite. Sometimes for ALL horses I apply a coat of vinegar after shampooing then rinse it away before conditioning.
Conditioner: Again, Suave! My favorite is the Vanilla Floral followed by Fresh Mountain Strawberry. Way cheaper than "horse" conditioners.
Body Wash: Orvus paste! Vetrolin also makes a nice one.
Liniment: Vetrolin will always be my favorite.
Detangler: Cowboy Magic Detangle and Shine, however it can be very drying. An alternative is Aussie Sydney Smooth. Vetrolin I've only used once but may start using again.

Other:
-Healthy Hair Care moisturizer. I cannot live without this stuff.
-"Pink" hair stuff. It's called pink, the color is pink, the bottle is pink. You can find it in the ethnic hair care section.
-Witch hazel! T.N. Dickinson's witch hazel. Apply to a cloth and rub. Great for shine and a healthy coat.
-Ultra products are usually very good. No complaints about them here.
-MTG! This is a must have to me. However, use it sparingly. Also do a test spot first to make sure your horse doesn't have a bad reaction.

(So much for just one!)

I have to add a comment on PINK as mentioned above it is great!!! I bought a can at the dollar store in March and after about 15 shows I still have some left.
Works great on the mane and tail and overall body for the halter class!!

I use olive oil(that is the most common ingrediant in the ethnic shanpoos and conditioners) on my horses tails and manes to get the knots out then just shampoo and rinse. I use mane and tail shampoo. For the white areas I just add some lemon juice to water and apply after I rinse them off.

Cowboy Magic detangler in the tube and Show Sheen, I couldn't decide between the 2.

Alot of Vetrolin "likers" here. I used it once and it dried my horses mane/tail out miserably.

Come to mention it contained silicone. No wonder.

I like the Eqyss line, contains no silicone.

Cowboy Magic can be rather drying because of the panthenol, same as Pantene.

The best product for horsey hair care would be Healthy HairCare moisturizer.

Pink is found in dollar stores in the Ethnic section, mine is in a spray can like hair spray. It adds sheen to the hair also has sun screen added.
