Not sure how this erea works so if needs to be moved.....go ahead.
This year we bit the bullet and bought a SkeeterVac. It's been up and running for about a month now but the skeeters have only been out a week.
It worked immediately on the black flies sucking them into the chamber and/or sticking thm onto the sticky paper. It was pleasant being outside for once.
Now last week the mosquitoes came out with a vengance and covered everything in sight (poor horses and wildlife), so many that the Vac simply could not keep up. Product does say that it does take at least 3 weeks for you to see any difference.
Yesterday afternoon Andre and I were out doing the last of our clean up in the corral. Nice pleasant day, sun and rain so it was not too hot to work. Bugs minimal as it was in the afternoon. We got the trailer loaded with the rest of that tree that fell over the winter and off we go to the back of the property to dump the rotted wood. Him in his overalls and me in shorts and a tank we head to the back and well OMG the bugs are INSANE

. I looked like the fella in that commercial 30 yrs back for OFF or MUSKALL (sp). The one were he put his hand in a box full of mosquitoes. Seriousely, I thought I was going to have to head to the hospital for a blood transfusion

. 30 minutes later we finish and go home and I made a consiouse note to see how bad the bugs were there. Considerable improvement, it will be interesting to see how much better things get once it catches up with the population. Is it worth the 500 bucks?? I say yep.
