Tall pines resort.
Well I am putting this under product review, since It kind of is, If it doesn't seem like the right place, Go ahead and move it.
Well I had seen this website from AR. http://www.trailriding.net/cabinext.htm And I really wanted to take a vacation since it has been 5 years since I had had one. So it was almost 10 hours from home, if you count the stops. I knew it was about 10 years old, and loved the pictures on the add. We stayed in the cabin, not the lodge. It also has a hot tub. Doesn't say that in the ad. Anyway, we were driving down there, and I was driving on these horrible roller coaster hills on a MO road called 101. A couple of them made us grip the dashboard and go AAAAGGGHHH! So we start talking and thinking, well if people can bring their animals, what if it is really dirty? and full of bugs? Husband suggested maybe the pics were taken right after it was built, and maybe it was a dump now? The drive was VERY stressful. I have a habit of biting my lip when nervous, and that is what I did most the way down, I was very surprised when I got out of the truck and still had a bottom lip.. ![]() So we have to go through Mt. Home to get to Norfork (where cabin is) I was told by the man whom takes the reservations that I should get my groceries there. So we stopped and cut the list in half, we were out of there in record time. I was so ready to just be there already. I can't explain just how happy I was to hear my GPS say turn right and go two miles to DESTINATION!! We pull up in front of the cabin. So we get out, and take care of the horses, why the groceries are still in the truck, but hey horses come first, so they were put in their corrals boots taken off, fly sprayed, masks on, and got some hay and clean water. then we go in to check out the cabin. I liked the looks of the outside. It was rustic, and the day was so pretty. Here is the pic of the outside. ![]() The inside was clean, and it smelled so good when you walked in, even after being built 10 years before the cedar smell is fantastic. The bed in the loft above is sooo comfortable. they had a basket full of what to do in North central AR. the carpet was different now. she had the coolest decor on the walls. I loved it from the minute I stepped foot into it. The hot tub was really clean too. it has lights and temperature control, I real nice one. The washer and dryer in the bathroom, were so great to have. The air works great. and cools it down in seconds flat. The brown recliner in the livingroom was my favorite chair. here are some pics of the inside. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The first full day when we woke up we went with Deb to the trails. She hauled us in her trailer, which was a blessing, I was so sick of driving. She rode a gaited mule and brought her dog stubby, he likes to ride with her, we had a good time watching them. He would jump off and run the trail and then he has a harness on, and he would jump half up the horse and she would grab him and put him back on her mules butt. ![]() the trails were so pretty. Here are some pics I got on the trails. The rocks there are sharp. So I would recommend skid boots. and you need a full set of shoes. I learned some new things I did not know she said there are wild boars, and bears in AR. and they had a few poison snakes we don't have. It was perfect weather and we had a great time, we only did a 4 hour ride. I didn't want to wear the horses out, so we even gave them the next day off, and put liniment gel on them and everything. They didn't act like it bothered them. I'll bet a lot of calendar pics come from AR. it is really beautiful. ![]() ![]() this picture is actually a road that turns to the right, you have to drive over the water. (word of advice, the water is crystal clear, and sometimes it is a lot deeper than what it looks.) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() this is actually the spot I jumped into the water with Latin, when she was tying up. See my other post under health on I almost lost my horse on our trip. But this was the spot. ![]() ![]() here are a couple road shots too. ![]() This one was actually on the back of my horse, looking down over the mountain. ![]() I'm going to finish the stuff on our horse vacation on another thread I can only put so many pictures on a post, and I have to be close to my limit here. So I will tell you about the cave tour and silver dollar city in another one. I will just call it tall pines resort two.
