Magic Eraser-HOOVES ONLY!!

Ok, don't laugh. But I used one lightly on my geldings front two white feet and they came out gorgeous. It took two seconds and I did it while I was giving him a bath. I'm not going to a show or anything, just wanted a clean horse (for 5 min. or so). I'm not sure, this might be something that people do all the time, but if not give it a shot. Works great!
I'm such a housewife Haven't found something that the kids do yet that a Magic eraser can't fix. Except gum....

Really? I use those on my shower as we have hard water. As a side note though, there has been warnings about making sure to wash your hands very thoroughly after using them as they will burn your skin...

When you said "Magic Eraser," I thought you meant the kind schoolchildren use!

She shouldn't use it on the socks though. That would hurt and not work. Only on their hooves. I probably should have been more clear about that.

Burn your skin? Hmm, maybe they're talking about the ones with the soap already in them. Those are not the ones I use. I just used the original white one which has absolutely NO chemicals in it. Thanks for letting us know though.

So to clarify-Only use the original white ones on their hooves, not the soapy ones. I'd hate for someone to use it and wind up with dry hooves.

CAUTION!
I recieved an email about a month ago about a woman who had given a plain white magic eraser to her 4 year old to clean up a mess he had made. Minutes later he was screaming in pain with very apparent skin irritation to the arms and face. After a trip to the ER and some overnight stays, the pictures were horrendous of what that child went through. Each eraser has some apparent acid or acidic acting ingredient that will eat at delicate skin or young child's. I now keep mine high away from my child...just in case.

Not sure what it would do to a horse's skin, so I would keep them strictly to the HOOVES

Yes, as I said before. Hooves only Please do not user this on skin or hair.

dcandace-I had a similar situation happen (although not to that degree) with my sons arm. He had a 4" strawberry on his arm from rubbing the ME on it.

This product is wonderful for hard surface such as hooves because it is only very mildly abrasive. However, it is he11 on skin. So please use it on hard hooves/surfaces only!!!

Was that a person relating something that happened to their child or someone passing on yet another internet horror story? Snopes.com has notes on "Magic Erasers" that say they're non-irritating. http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/eraser.asp

Again, Plain Magic Eraser's don't have chemiclas in them. They are simply an abrasive. That's it. My sons spot on his arm from a Magic Eraser came about from him rubbing his arm with it to remove a temporary tattoo. Not from some chemical

oh ok...good thing you told me HOOVES ONLY before I spreaded the advice about how good it is on horse skin ...... I will feel awful if someone came up to me that I have given that Magic Eraser advice and told me their horse is breaking out in blisters then get the notice that its for Hooves only.....oops.

Anyways, thanks again for the heads up! saved my life
