double k clippers

Anyone own or ever tried a double K clipper? Its the big blue ones that mount on the wall and the clippers are connected to the wall mount by a cable?? I was thinking about gettiing some to strip the minis down this spring but then i read a review saying that they vibrated alot. Kinda like a hand held sander. Is this true?? I dont think my minis would appreciate that. I wouldnt want to hold something for long that causes the pins and needles either. Please help these things are expensive i'd hate to get them and wish i hadnt.

I LOVE these clippers. They cost a LOT, they're worth it, double-y so if you have minis! (If yours are as fuzzy as mine, then you're going to need then.) So far I've tried around three different body clippers and these heat up in around 30 minutes of high speed clipping, but only take a few to cool back down. If you're not sure you want to spend around $350 for clippers, see if there is anyone that has a pair and ask to use a patch of their horse (it's only hair!). They do buzz some, but my girls don't mind at all, and they're pretty quit for the job they do!

Andis AGC Super 2 speed clippers are better & alot less $

Double K and Andis AGC are the best clippers. But Andis is way cheaper & its T-84 blade is way better!

I own 3 good horse clippers........

1. Oster Clipmaster clipper- it clips well but its too heavy

2. Double K is a good clipper.....its relatively quiet, and its easy to handle, the head swivels.. I find that the cord between the clipper and the motor is sorta rigid and unyielding and adjusting the speed on the blue motor versus the actual clipper is annoying. Also its Very expensive. $350

3. Andis AGC is the best of all. It has a wide blade T-84, its very lightweight, its 2 speed, I think its the most versatile. It even comes with a really nice case, oil and a "how to clip a horse DVD" It was $139 ( $155 with shipping and handling)on-line it was $209 at the local equine tack shoppe.

PS the person who told me about the Andis clipper is a professional horse clipper, who does thoroughbreds for the Ocala Breeders Sales

The trick to good clipping is a clean horse, a well oiled clean sharp blade and plenty of COOL LUBE
