Fly predators are actually live worm like critters you buy thru the mail that you place around your manure and they eat the fly larvae so there is no hatching. If you do a genreal search on google or yahoo you will find them out there. The amount you buy depends on # of horses/property. They didn't work for me. It takes more than one application of them to see a difference. There have been a few threads on the fly predators and I think the conscensus is they don't really work that well. Here is one of the threads. Fly Predators? Here is a link to the fly predators themselves...... http://www.spalding-labs.com/

We have used the Spaulding brand of fly predators for 2 years now, and they DO make a big difference. We automatically receive them once a month beginning in spring and discontinue the shipments in the fall.
You need to pay attention to the directions for the application of them. You must wait to put them out until the little wasps are mostly hatched in the package, and then we have to wait to spread them around the problem areas (manure piles, barn areas) until nightfall so our free-range chickens do not eat them all.

Fly Pretators are supposed to be real good; I've had neighbors that used them. They do gross me out though.......I HATE bugs!
