They definitly make an impact! We've just started using this this year. But, like fishing_trex said, they don't bother the horse flies. UGH!

But they are great! Highly recommended.

They will help, but keep in mind they only work on the "unborn" flies, not the ones you already have. It's best to get ahead of the flies by starting first thing in the spring.

You can call Arbico Organics (1-800-827-2847 --these people are great!) [I have only talked to Spalding and Arbico folks and the Arbico people appeared to be more willing to spend time with me and answer my questions, but that is only my experience] and talk to someone about how much they will help at this point.

This is our first year using them and they work pretty good. We noticed a large decrease in flies.

We tried them in WA state and did not have much success. Our neighbors were very close though and we think we were getting some of their homegrown ones.
I have had much more success since we started spreading the manure daily.
Almost none..of course the seasonal bits of deer and other bloodflies..they still come.
