I have one and cant figure a way to get it tight enough. Im used to the old cowboy way of girthing up.

Do you go through the top loop first and then the bottom? If not that might be part of the problem if you do I don't know how to help you.

I bought one about a year ago and just love it. My trainer looked at it and said "You got a high dollar one"

Hey I am 5'5" and have a 15.2 horse who can blow up like a balloon. I need every advantage I can get.

Mine aren't Weaver but they are the exact same concept and I love them! I have 3 of them and won't go back to any other cinch! Definately worth every penny spent!

It's not leather on leather? Can you explain that because I'm not picturing it in my head (which doesn't suprise me..) I was thinking about getting one.

I recently found a Mohair string girth and bought it. It has the Weaver roll snug buckle. I love it! It is sooooo much easier to tighten on my mare, who also blows herself up. She of course is not too happy about it.

I love mine. I do find you need to be a bit more concious about cinching up slowly because it is easy to go to fast with that cinch. Otherwise love it.

Thanks. Question answered. What's worse about my dumb question is that I already have the Weaver corded one...Seriously where's the blonde smiley cause I find myself needing one quite often....

I'm with HighHorse on having the Weaver corded one...er well two actually. I like the corded ones because to me they are easier to keep clean and they seem to let the horse breathe better. Since my wife and I got ours over the past year or so everyone I ride with has gotten one. At 20 bucks each, you can hardly beat them for value and ease of use. My wife doesn't even want me to check her girth before she mounts anymore, with this girth she can do as good a job as I can lol.

I have the neoprene one and don't care for the way it seems to rub his hair off. Would like to find the rope style with the same smart cinch buckle, but can't seem to locate them in my area at any tack supply stores. I checked Weaver online, but it's a bit pricey. Anyone know of any tack catalogs that carry it and don't charge an arm and a leg?

Mav2007- I don't know what you're considering pricey but in GA they are about 20 bucks and any tack store that sales weaver stuff can get them for you. If they are extra pricey there you can get them here http://www.tackranch.com/SmartCinch.html
The 15 strand one is less than 18 bucks and the 25 strand is about 22 dollars + shipping of course.

This page also has a picture demonstrations of how to use them for whoever it was that asked about it.

I absolutely love mine, and dont think i will ever buy another. Mine is just like the one in the picture, and it has a felt lining, that doesnt make them sweat too bad, and doesnt pull any more hair than the saddle blanket.

Love it, love it, love it.

Yep, they're great. I wouldn't consider anything other than the smart cinches now. Whether noeprene or corded, you can't lose!!

yes this is one of the best girths that have ever used. you go through the first loop and then the 2nd on and tighten from there. very simple to use. if I can do it anyone can do it...lol
