Newer Spreader-manure spreader

Manufacturer: Newer Spreader
Model Name: 2 varieties-regular and LARGE
Product Type/Product purpose: Spread your daily accumulations of manure-and no more flies.
Price and Purchase info: They run right at 790.00 delivered with the optional agitator we ordered[helps to break down the load for faster spreading]

- Product Description -

Pros: This all aluminum[besides the sidewall] spreader is just great. It empties in no time at all and it is our second one. My daughter inherited the first one. That one was 4 years old and still looked new.
It empties quickly and can be pulled by any small lawn tractor, four wheeler or by hand if your little tractor breaks at a bad time.
Light enough to pick it up by the handle and roll it into the stall to load. Fits thru normal 4 foot gates just fine.
Hook it back up to your pulling device-engage the wheel locks and off you go.

Cons: You do have to assemble them from scratch so it can be frustrqating at first. It is worth it though.

Would you recommend this to a friend?: Absolutely-it will save you a ton on sprays for your stable flies and no more ugly manure piles.

Overall Product rating: (out of 10)

I've seen this at Equine Affaire I think, is it a big round spreader???

If so how does it get shavings out? what about hay? I get that if you put poop only in there it will come out, but it looked to me like the holes weren't big enough for straw/hay and big shavings??? Is it for sawdust and poop only???

Thanks!

No this one is square and has a "grinder" in the bottom that crunches up the manure or shavings and hay.
It does not work on just a big wet pile of hay.
It does work on mixed loads very well-the link shows pics of it.

I FINALLY convinced my husband that we needed one of these ASAP!!! We've got 3 acres and 3 horses. The poo is getting out of control!! Manure seems to reproduce overnight! I'm so excited I can't stand it!! If you can't find me, look in the pasture!!!

Thanks, ToveroMom. I have alerted my husband about the potential difficulty, and he has already decided that his brother is going to help assemble it!!! I'm selling tickets if anyone is interested. I'll be the one off to the side holding those "useless instructions"!!!! Just kidding, I'm sure his brother will help keep his temper in check. I'm just glad someone else is going to get to be the "lovely assistant" this time!! I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks.

Well did you get it together?
I know men are not great about reading instructions. Like the one about not driving in reverse while the spreader is working.
The two "paddles" you engage to being the spreading-begin turning the "tumbler". That only goes one way-you canreally mess it up if you go in reverse. There is a note in there somewhere I believe.
Those are my words for the parts-I do not have my instructions anymore

Well, we finally got the spreader assembled this past weekend. My brother-in-law came over and shamed my husband into getting it out of the box. He used the ruse "let's just look at the inst." That turned into a 3 hour assembly job!!!! I read and kept track of the inst. while they and my sister-in-law was here and was the one who helped keep them in check! We've used it 3 times and love it. The only problem is one of the wheels won't stay locked. I've called the folks at the factory and got some ideas to try . They offered to send me a new assembly, but I told them to let's try to troubleshoot it first. Whoever said its a big pain to put together was right!!! But now I could do it without the inst!!!!That just figures!!!

Heck let them send you the new one if it isn't working right-you paid enough for it.
Yes indeed when I first got mine I was unhappy when it was empty. It was fun to turn my poop hill into dust!

Thumbs up Love it...finally assembled!

Wow, you were right...what a pain to put together. Hubby said it wasn't really that bad until the end! But, once it is up & running, it is so worth it. We got a new toy...a golf cart to pull it and the harrow! So excited! It's scary the things us horse gals get excited about!

I have to make do with a small dump cart for clean up. I'll find a piece of land that needs a little help and dump the cart. Later I might pull an old box spring (devoid of fabric) behind the quad to spread it. The box spring has angle iron framing so it really breaks up the manure and spreads it. In Spring as the snow has just left, I'll pull this around my 4 acre paddock to spread the winter manure. Later, I'll pull the harrows and toss out a couple of pounds of timothy. That's my "newer spreader" Lol

Oh trust me I had to do many a thing with the darned manure till I found these.
The funny thing is I had talked with the original owner. Her Hubby invented thi for her for a holiday gift.
What a nice Hubby and then he made a bundle on them.
Other hubby's should take not of this

I have one of those, and I love it! As for putting it together, we got lucky. We went straight to a manufacturer somewhere here in FL (it's been a few years, but it holds up great!) and they had one all put together that we were able to buy. We just picked it up and put it in the back of the truck.

i saw a commercial for one on RFDTV and it looked like it would take FOREVER to clean 10 stalls because it was soo tiny. any thoughts on this?

It is not tiny and does 4 stalls at a time very easily-it spreads a full load in under 2 minutes.
So if you fill it 3 times then it will take you 6 minutes to dump it.
NO manure piles makes it worth it's weight in gold.
It explains on the website.
