Joint Supplement- Majesty's Flex Wafers

=====================================
- Product Info -

Manufacturer: Majesty's Animal Nutrition
Model Name: Majesty's Flex Wafers
Product Type/Product purpose: A joint supplement in a treat form
Price and Purchase info:$38.95 for 60 days worth from smartpak http://www.smartpakequine.com/Produc...eCategory=true

- Product Description -

Pros: I use MF Wafers. The horses love them and they do make a difference in my horses. I have 2 horses that don't have any major problems but get alittle stiff due to some arthritis/etc. A few weeks on the cookies and no signs of stiffness. A cookie or 2 a day.

Cons: Some horses don't like the MF wafers right away...
you just crumble them up with the feed and they start to eat them, then they are fine with them it seems.

Would you recommend this to a friend?:

Other comments: The HA's are only for Barrel racers, cross country, high energy use/etc.. you wouldnt need to use them for your average stiff old backyard horse.
I don't have any hoof problems so didn't need to use the biotin ones.
* a little note to anyone that did use the biotin wafers and didn't like them about a year or so ago.... they changed the formula, they are more paletable now. The original ones were eeeeeeewww icky smelling and I don't think the horses liked them much.

Overall Product rating: (out of 10)

I started two horses on these a week ago. The one horse pudgy Reno is eating them and begging for them but my other pickier mare Kitty still has to have them crumbled in a cup of grain. Don't know yet if they will help with the creakies though.

I do disagree on the HA's though, they seem to work the best on horses with any kind of tendon issue. I've tried joint supplements on my gelding Sam without them and didn't get nearly the effect that I do with supplements that do have HA in them and he's just a backyard trail horse.

I also started Sonny who has very poor quality hoof from previous malnutrition on the biotin ones but he won't eat them plain so I have to feed them crumbled in a handful of grain also. We'll see.

Guess I could have worded that differently. MOST of the time you wouldn't need to start your back yard "creaky" horses on something like the HA's. But if the Majesty Flex Wafer just don't do it, then you could try those ( and they do seem to work better if it is more than a joint issue). Con: they are much more expensive. I would start with the original joint cookie first and see if I saw results (and the horses would eat it)before I tried the HA.

Update. While I haven't noticed a big difference yet in the creaks and groans on the two horses I have on these (it's only been a little over 30 days so far) They are both begging for them each day. I just got in their second bag and for the two days they went without (I know bad mommy!) they were quite upset that they didn't get their "treat".
Gave up on getting my Sonny to eat his biotin wafers though, still had to crumble his up in his grain.

I had an older mare that was on the Majestic Flex Wafers, and it worked great for her, and was cheaper then some of the other products.
