- Product Description - Quiessence is a high Magnesium feed supplement in a safe, absorbable, palatable pelleted form. As well as providing much needed Magnesium for the body, this supplement also provides Chromium and B vitamins. Quiessence is natural with no side effects. It may help to maintain a normal calm disposition. It may help with muscle soreness due to normal work and exertion patterns.
In horses with a a cresty neck that might be founder-prone, Quiessence has been shown to reduce the crestyness (study results available on request).

Pros:Worked great for my mare who is prone to muscle soreness. It also worked with her mood, made her calm so she could listen to the commands.

Cons: Relatively expensive for me, but I would use it again.

Would you recommend this to a friend?:Yes!

Other comments: At the Foxden Equine they have a case study you can look at for the cresty neck horses. I found that very intresting.

Overall Product rating: 8

We have used Quiessence for our 33 year old gelding with Cushings disease. Our vet reccommended it whe he had a bout of laminitis that wouldn't respond to treatment. He said he had had it work well in a number of these cases, even though it isn't really a medication, per se. We started him on it and the laminitis resolved. We kept him on it til the next time the vet came out and said we could take him off. We didn't notice any particular calming effects, (after all he's 33!) but it worked well for what we were using it for. I have reccomended it to freinds for laminitis prone horses.
