My Horse Hauler - Ford F350 Super Duty

I finally got around to doing a review on my truck. It's only the second new, off the lot, vehicle I've ever bought (I've always been a big fan of letting someone else take the depreciation hit!)

A year ago, fall 2008, I took the plunge and bought a Ford F350 Diesel and so far, knock on wood, it's been great. She sucks up the fuel but boy does she pull. Not a drag nor a whimper when we're heading into Washington's high country with a loaded horse trailer behind us.

Click HERE for the full review

The pic below is us on a fairly scary forest service road heading back from a great ride at Haney Meadows

Oh wow, NICE!
I now have a serious case of truck envy.

I know you love your truck. I drive a F450 and am in love with it. Hubby asked me if I wanted a cute sports car. WHY would I ever even think of getting something that can't haul, carry hay/feed. etc. I get the funniest looks when I get out of the truck!!!

Me. Buy a car? Why would I do that? We haven't owned a car in years.

That's one of the great things about a diesel engine, they last forever! After having a couple of diesel engine vehicles I don't know that I'll go back to a gasoline engine.

Even my car is a diesel (VW Golf) and it gets 50 MPG. More info on the wonder car can be found here.

I have this same truck, it is customized by Extreme trucks and it has the biggest engine that they make....I love, love, love my truck.....I know what you mean by the funny looks you get when you get out of it, I get those too.....sometimes, I get a chuckle, when they read the plate on the front that says "HERS", and my husband climbs outta the passenger side....

I bought my first diesel in 06 and got the F250.ext cab I pull a 3h sl w/8ft lq. I love the pulling power it has. I traded a 03 F250 CC 5.4L in on it. i miss my crew cab though.
