*Calendar Contest Selections* We have a winner!

Hi everyone. I'm posting the final calendar contest selections along with the month in which the photo will appear. I'd like everyone to take a look at the photos and then vote for their favorite! The photo with the most votes will go on the cover of the calendar and will win a special prize.

I'm not including the names of who took which photos in this post so that people can focus on the photos when voting. Congratulations to all of our wonderful photographers. There were so many gorgeous photos it was very difficult to choose!

January:

February:

March:

April:

May:

June:

July:

August:

September:

October:

November:

December:

ps. Thanks to taelesean for removing the date stamps off of our January and May photos! The preview photos above still show the date stamp, but the originals that will go to make the actual calendar have been edited.

Congrats to all those chosen for the calendar - the photos are all gorgeous!!

Before I vote, a quick question...
What kind of wording will be on the cover, and where might it go? It seems that some of the photos don't have much room for print before the subject gets covered.

Well, what I'd really like is for people to just choose their favorite without considering wording on the cover, etc. That way the favorite photo will get the prize. If there isn't a lot of room for something like "Horsetopia Calendar: 2007" without going over the horses in the photo, then we'll just overlay the text on top of the horses in a transparent but readable color, or something along those lines...

It's so funny how people's tastes are so different. Two of my favorites haven't gotten any votes yet! I've been holding off on voting since I'm still wavering. It's amazing how much talent we've got here!

Beautiful all of them. How hard was that to pick just one. The only reason I chose May was because both my kids were born in that month.

I admire your interest in democracy Annie, but something tells me there's a pretty clear leader (or pair of them, that is).

You do have a point, Anne! I just want everyone to feel included in the decision making. Besides, given the number of active members we have, less than 100 votes is not the type of voter participation I want to see.

It was a hard choice they were all deserving, but I chose may because it is rare to see twins and my first actual horse was a twin but his sister died after birth.

Thanks for voting everyone. I'd like to congratulate treasure1 for her great shot of the twins that has won the contest! Her photo will go on the cover and she'll receive a gift basket with all natural soaps and candles (more info to come on that). Additionally, she'll get coupons for 3 gold photo ads on our classifieds.

For those of you with photos that will be appearing in the calendar, please send me a PM with a short caption that we can include with your entry. We would also like to know info about the horses including their name(s), breed(s), and location (city, state/province). Here's an example of what I mean:

Quote:
January
Caption: Ebony's Painted Ivory (left) and her fillly Sheza Perfect Angel (right) are looking forward to coming in for some grain.

Names: Black/white mare, Ebony's Painted Ivory. Bay/white filly, Sheza Perfect Angel
Breed: Paint (APHA)
Location: Northern Ontario, Canada.
