Sadly, Bob WAS a very sweet boy. He came to live with us after Mom found him and his litter mates dumped in Crystal City, in a flowerbed outside of the building she works at. They were barely 10 days old. We took Bob to help out with the bottle feeding and such. Bob got his name after he attacked my hubby. He was no bigger than a minute, yet he ran across the couch and grabbed hubby's face and bit his nose. Hubby said "He thinks he's a Bobcat!". Well, it stuck. (Bob is the only cat that has lived in my house with me, as I am allergic.) He wore all types of clothes and diapers too! When we went somewhere we had to take him too, as he had to be fed every couple of hours. So, in preparing to go somewhere, the kids would say "But What about Bob?"
Bob was killed back in the spring. (He was almost two) How, you might ask? By a Bobcat. I was awoken by the horses running and screaming about 3 am. I went out and got them up and could hear the Bobcat squawking nearby. After daybreak, we found Bob tore up by the back porch. First time in 20 years I really cried over a cat. I still miss him.

Txcowgirl..What a hard job you are going to have. What a bunch of wonderful pictures so far, they have all stirred my emotions and each one tells me a little story and makes me wish I knew the person or animal in it. I am especially enjoying the children and horses, Leadmare, I just love the ones you have of the girls with your babies, the one on the older horse just a few weeks before that horse passed away and the big smile that is on that little girls face showing the trust and joy that that pony gave to her. The one with the little girl laying down by that Clydesdale baby where she has a look of pure love in her eyes for that baby. And the photo with the little girl leading the pony with the little kitty riding aboard..all of them are precious. You have a way of capturing a moment on film. Oh and Bob..so funny. It is tragic, the way he died, but he was so loved, I can only hope that you can take comfort in that. He had a very special life with you all. I offer my sympathy, no one should ever have to lose an animal in such a way..sending you big hugs from Missouri

Hi HollyHobby,
I love the picture of your kids and the puppy! It's just too cute. This thread is for discussing the contest, the other thread is for the entries...

ThorArb - just wanted to say the pic with your nephew, I think, and the pitt is priceless! A very good example that not all pitts are mean & evil like most people are led to believe!

Barrelgrl-love the mini pics! Could be because I have been hunting a driving mini for so long and not finding any!

Thanks toveromom. My sisters and I have a lot of fun with our minis. If you find a willing mini, they are super easy to train. I had all mine going down the road the second or third day in the cart!!! They are extremely quick learners. All but one of our minis is trained to drive, and that last one will be trained this spring. I love training horses, big and small.
Jumping is fun, also. Our miniatures have a lot of heart and love to please. The little sorrel mini with my stepsister will jump higher than she is tall!! My mini will also, they are half brother and sister. My mini is in the hall of fame for hunter. They love jumping so much they will jump a jump that is set up in their pen!! |
