I think Gottaloveduns picture #1 should be either January or December. Countrymare's picture #1 would be great for September. The red roan color goes great with the leaves in the background.

If you post entries for the Calendar don't worry if they don't show up in the thread right away. The technical issues HT has been having has slowed the process up--

Oh yeah, and some people are sending in submissions saying "Hope it's not too late!"

Too late? Well, you've got a few more months!

We like to try to have it ready in December, so might take submissions into late October or early November. We have not usually made a precise cut-off in the past. Kind of depends on what volume we have and how quickly the committee is moving on decisions.

But please don't wait until then to send in a photo you've got now! The sooner the better. Get out there with your cameras and give us some hard decisions to make!

So do ya'll have alot more submissions or is this pretty much it so far? (not that ther is anything wrong with these so far)

Seems like last year there were pages of pics to have to choose from

We have another 20 that are in for voting right now. We're doing things a little different committee-wise this year ... (um, OK, they were waiting on me for a while!), and the difficulty posting on HT lately hasn't helped.

Hopefully keeping this discussion thread bumped will help "advertise" it to everyone.

Keep those photos coming!

Brokenarrow, that is a cute colt! What kind of camera are you using? It almost looks like he was cut and pasted onto the background!

I use an Olympus E-300 Evolt like this one. Not too fancy, but it gets the job done.

Check the thread often cause at least a couple of times a week new pictures will be added!!

Sorry, rissa, I try to send replies to all entries when I go thru them - I mustve skipped you for some reason.

Same goes for others - give us about a week, but you should get some form of response as to the fact that we got your submission or not.

Can you explain this process a little better?

Is the HT calendar crew voting on our submissions before they are posted to see which ones we get to vote on, or are ya'll posting all the ones you recieve unless you get a bunch from one person?

If I understand correctly, they look at your e-mail, and if your submission fit the requirements (wider than tall, 1612x1024+ pixels, no people in photo, etc.) then they vote on which ones they believe are "calendar quality." The pictures that they voted "yes" on are then posted in the entries thread for the rest of the HTians to view. I believe they are only options, and there will be a final vote at the end of the year when the calendar crew is preparing the calendar to pick the best 12. I'm not sure, but I think the only thing the rest of us HTians vote on is the cover shot, correct?
