Keegan REALLY wants to be on the cover again this year. We displayed this calander after buying it at his booth. He's going to be preforming theater at a big fancy smachy place in Chicago and other expos where it can be shown off this year too.

Is it too late to submit a few more photos?

I also can't find the thread with submitted photos so I can't figure out which ones I've submitted so I don't submit the wrong ones.

I'm not a member of the committee anymore, so I can't comment as to what is or isn't going on ... sorry!

Here's a link to all the submissions ... if it is not posted to frequently enough, it will drop off the visible lists and you have to search for it with keywords.

2010 HT Calendar Entries (don't post your photos here)

Not speaking on behalf of HT or anything, just thought that I'd mention that there are companies out there like SnapFish and CafePress where you can order up your own calendar with whatever photos you want on it ... just sayin' ...

Well I submitted two or three more.

It's a little different to actually win something like that and show it off and just make one yourself and show it off, see what I mean?

Here's the reply I got from Berry about the contest I asked: Hey, just wanted to know if y'all are still accepting entries for the 2010 calendar? I have a few pics i'd like to submit.

Berry's response:
Yes we are...there seems to be a bit of a glitch in getting them posted over the last few weeks so if you do submit additional photos, please be patient.

Look forward to seeing more entries.

Kathy

Last Call For Calendar Entries

We've set a cutoff date of November 15 for calendar entries...Please take the time to submit your photos. While we have received lots of worthy photographs...the more the merrier.

If you have photos that represent any of the seasons particularly well, please submit them. We do not have many entries with SNOW in them.

Also, the HT calendar should represent a good cross section of horse breeds. Review the thread showing the entries that have been accepted and see if you can contribute photos of other breeds of horses.

As always, the entries must be of sufficient size/resolution for good quality in the calendar printing. Lighting, focus and composition are also considered in selecting the entries.

To Save you a Step, I've copied the guidelines in this message but entrants can also refer to the thread on Calendar guidelines which (I think) I've now bumped back to an active post.

Do not post your entries in this thread, they will need to be emailed to us (see more info below). You can enter as many photos as you'd like, but please make sure they meet our criteria before sending them in.

1. Photo must be high quality and digital. This means about 1612x1024 pixels or good enough for an 8" x 10" print. If you submit a photo and the resolution is too low, we won't be able to consider it.

2. Photos must include at least one horse as the main subject. (no people in the photos, please!)

3. Photos should be visually stunning and horizontally oriented (the photo should be wider than it is tall). You've all seen plenty of calendars -- photos should be clear and should have a great background (or at the very least, the background should be clear of trash and/or manure) .

4. You must own the rights to the photo. The photo must be taken by you (or a family member). Winners for each month may be asked to sign a release form, giving us permission to use the photo in a commercial capacity. You will not have to sign over your rights to the photo, but you will need to agree that Horsetopia.com can use any photo you submit in our promotional materials or in the Calendar. Calendars will be sold towards the end of 2009 and we will do our best to find a low-cost distributor.

To help you get an idea of the quality we are looking for, please, see the winners from the last few years here:

Calendar contest winners! Please vote for the cover shot :)

To submit a photo, please email it to Horsetopia.Calendar@gmail.com -- we will post the photo within a week or two of receiving it, if it meets the above criteria. Please make sure to include your forum username in the subject line of the email!

This contest will not affect our regularly scheduled monthly photo contests. Additionally, you are free to submit photos to both contests simultaneously. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM Applejack or Lady_MCSE. Now, get out there with those cameras!

Please remember, do NOT post your photos in this thread. You need to submit them by email to Horsetopia.Calendar@gmail.com with your forum username in the subject of the email.

Gotta say my favorite so far is FatSpottedAppy's #13. That barnwood on an angle like that makes for a great background. Makes it kinda look like those colored black and white photo's. Then the pink and purple halters just draw your eyes to the center. Great picture.

I'll send in one from earlier this year. Should be in the e-mail account now. The other 4 were feeling left out with Chevy getting two individual pictures. Wonder who's Momma's boy huh?

TOMORROW NOVEMBER 15th IS THE ENTRY DEADLINE

We encourage everyone to submit their best photos...we have had several submissions over the past week that will be posted to the "entries" thread but please take this opportunity to submit some more. By stopping entries at the end of the day, Sunday, November 15, we will have enough time to format the calendar allowing people to order them (hopefully) in time for Christmas.
