Wink Do I count as an animal

I fell in a hole the other...er.....week. My wonderful 170 pound pitbull desided her wanted to jump on top of me and I stepped back to balance myself and hit a hole....my ankle went CRRRUUUNNNCCCHHHH. I didn't go to the dr cause I just thought, " Oh, I swisted it, no big deal. " Well it is still almost too painful to walk on....and it keeps turning all kinds of different colors.

Went to the Drs and he is all " it can't be broken or you wouldn't be walking on it for so long " Heh, fractured in 2 places and a clean brake on one of my little foot bones. I also tore my tendon 3/4 of the way though.

WooHoo!! I am on bed rest for 6 weeks or until it is better. Easy for them to say I have a brn to feed and clean.

My honey will help, but he has to work as well. And I can't afford to take off work either, lol. So I will gimp around and deal with it. Thank you for your well wishes.

High School boyfriends mother stepped in a hole walking down a hill and ended up rolling down the hill. Her ankle was shattered, they had to piece it back together. She ended up with LOTS of rods in her ankle. It was really gross, they stuck out every direction like some kind of weird crown. Her ankle looked almost black it was so bruised and swollen. I sure hope your isn't anywhere near that bad.

Tealesean- I know! HOw the heck are us horsey people supposed to live with injuries? No matter what you hurt it is really inconveinient.

Horses&Soccer- ** Big Sigh ** My honey is my Highschool boyfriend, lol. It is not shattered, but the dr says I am really lucky I can even move my ankle. But these buises are 2 weeks old....the whole thing are purple for a week when it happened.

Get your self a walking cast- (even though you can walk i know) and then get like a granny scooter- its like a walker but it has a seat on it.. and I've seen people put their knee on it and scoot !! It wont help with chores, but it would help you get around-

TIME to make the offending dog help with the chores!

Oh and OUCH!! That looks sooooooooooooooo painful! I am so sorry!
I hope it heals quickly!!

I got an ankle brace. A granny scooter? I was accaully looking at those interesting little moter scooters.....the horses would just LOVE that.

Heh, Poor Devo is just as crippled as I am and twice as old. I was really surprized when he jumped on me....he must have really been feeling his senior food

Yeah, it hurts.....alot, but I have had worse and I'm sure I will have worse in the future.

Thank you though!

Hugs to you for quick healing. As a woman who can twist her ankle on flat ground, I have literally felt your pain.

I'm going to be the voice of reason here and tell you that you really need to stay off that foot. Hire the neighbor's kid to muck out or whatever but you could permanently injure that joint. I was tossed off my TB years ago and blew out my knee. I didn't do the things I was supposed to do and now I'm suffering because of it. The broken bone in the foot is what I find most worrisome. My friend broke that same bone last year so I know how painful it must be for you.

I know its going to be tough to stay off it but you HAVE to. Otherwise it will just get worse and worse which means more bed rest. It will get all shades of rainbow b/4 its over. Ouch !! Good luck.

Ouch!! Hope it heals well for you - and quickly!

But I won't tell you to stay off of it as that would be as hypocrytical as can be since I'm running around on a broken foot as well at the moment

You should really stay off your foot if it's broken! I only have a few little injuries, lol. Thank you.
