Sad Days at Our House....

Sad days at our house...3 of my ferrets died Sunday. We are chalking up two of them to old age and one no clue. I went to let them out Sunday when I got up and found three of my fuzzies dead. We miss them so much and my roomie and I are taking it pretty hard. We loved the little cusses. Please pray for us. We can't deal with another loss. NONE showed ANY sign of illness or weakness...Saturday they were healthy and playful, Sunday they were dead.

Are you positive it couldn't be some kind of virus? Maybe they ate something they shouldn't have

I am so sorry for your loss. Sometimes there is no explanation for things and why they happen. Hugs to you.

O my--that would be hard to take! So sorry for your loss. Sounds awfully strange that three would die at the same time from natural causes. Any chance a new food or a new bag of the old food was started yesterday? Any visitors that could have put something in the cage/cages? Water quality hasn't changed? Nothing could have scared them terribly? A poisoned rodent couldn't have slipped in and been eaten or anything?

Am sure you have wracked your brains but sometimes it is something you just do not think of.

So sorry for your horrible loss. Hopefully you can get to think only of the fun you had with them instead of how much you miss them. RIP little babies!

I'm so sorry for your loss.

It seems very strange for you to loose all three at the same time....did you change foods suddenly? Perhaps it was a new bag of food you fed?

I know you and your room mate are grieving, but this sounds more than just coincidental to me.

Sending hugs and prayers and hoping you have many fond memories of your little friends.

Prayers are there to surround you and your roomie in comfort at this time of huge loss.

It is so hard to have a sudden death (3 suddenly dying is such a huge and overwhelming loss). It will be hard to find any comfort in the depths of sorrow.

Perhaps the fact that they were happy and playing on Saturday will actually help you heart in your grief...ferrets wilting away in illness is not a life for them...to say it is a blessing that they died quickly is harsh; but knowing ferrets, it is actually a blessing that they lived joyfully getting into trouble like ferrets live to do until the moment they wiggled into heaven.

Your little fuzzies wiggled there way into your hearts and that love will remain forever. ((((hugs))))

R.I.P. beloved fuzzy ferrets

Just checking to see how you are doing?

Did you find anything more about what happened?

Grief is a long hard road. Just wanted to let you know we are here for you.

So far we are dealing with the deaths of our beloved fuzzies. It is hard and has affected both my roomies and myself. Even the remaining ferrets show some signs of grief. We are watching the others like a hawk to see if anyone is showing signs of illness. So far, NOTHING! That is a good thing. I don't think we could handle another loss right now. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers!

I'm very late coming into this one but sorry to hear about the ferrets. Are the other ones still doing okay?
