Rabbit is sick!

I need some advice here! My lop eared rabbit isn't doing so hot...she had been having minor diarrhea until yesterday...came home to find it all over her cage.

I gave her a bath, since it wasn't going to come off without one, and then set to work on her cage for the next 45 minutes. She still has a little but its getting better. However, she isn't eating normally. She's a PIG and normally dives into her food the moment I put it in her cage. I gave her just a little of her normal rabbit food with a big handful of alfalfa (so I could increase the fiber in her diet some more) but she hasn't eaten any.

Anybody have any suggestions on what to do here?

She is probly dehydrated from the loose stools. I would take her to the vet for IV fluids. Withhold the greens (lettuce, kayle, etc) b/c that is all water and will make the loose stools worse.

I've HEARD probiotics and pedialyte.....I've also heard diarrhea can take a rabbit down quickly, so I'd call the VET as well.

Yeah, bunny with diarrehea is not good, but it is better if it is an adult bunny rather than a baby (babies can die within hours) You can give her pedialyte and also give her human baby (as in infant) gas medicine - I can't recall the name, if you google bunny stomach problems you should get some websites that will tell you the name of the stuff and how much to give. If she is not eating, you may have to syringe feed - again, human baby carrot mush or squash every couple of hours. Bunnies' entire digestive tracks will shut down if they don't eat really regularly - a day without eating can be enough to cause their systems to just shut down completely. Bunny tummy troubles can be bad news, but if caught quickly can resolve pretty easily as well.

Good luck!
