Where did this come from???

I found this bird on my carport this morning.What kind is it and where did it come from??It is very friendly and it has a band around its leg that says 160.I live in Tn and i have never seen anything like it.

looks like a canary(sp) to me...if u do a google image search and type in yellow canary they look the same

I also think it looks like a canary that escaped or was turned loose from someone's home! Is it tame? I would try to catch it, it is not going to be able to survive long in the wild, if it is banded, it was likely bred to be a pet.

I have it underneath a clothes basket right now.When hubby(sugar daddy) comes home im gonna go buy it a cage.

i would put up found signs etc and get all the info u can on canaries especially if u do end up keeping it and u obviously will have to get a cage and food or something to keep it in until u figure out whats being done with it.

Bandig is similar to putting tags or microchiping a dog.........are there avain vets, or an Audabon Society near you that could tell you what the info on the leg band is?
Or, perhaps a zoo or aviary.........they would certainly band their birds. Someone has to be looking for it..........
