Went to the local zoo

with my daughter's second grade class yesterday. It's not a big fancy zoo, but they have a pretty good assortment of animals. They have a bird show and the birds fly right over you. I had the hawk just brush my arm with it's wing and the owl made my hair rustle as it went over. It was cool and

at the same time. I'm really proud of these pics, I'm not usually the best photographer. (Especially when a big bird of prey is flying right at me)

I just like the way this one turned out, too.

Those bird pictures are neat! And of course I love the giraffes.. they are one of my favourite animals. Very nicely captured!

i think if i had an owl flying at me i would have dropped the camera and run away screaming.

good for you for holding on and snapping some cool pics.

wow......you should be proud of those bird pics..IMO they are outstanding....i just love being able to see the "big birds" up close.......I have a huge feather collection........feathers are so incredibly constructed, to be able to lift a creature into the air....and the teeny bit of color on each feather, when put together with others gives birds their beautuful patterns.....
birds are pretty awesome....i will be going back frequently to look at your pics
