Baby Killdeer Birds are everywhere:Pics

A little lesson on Killdeer birds. They lay their eggs on the ground. More specific, in my pasture. I notice little babies running around this afternoon. They are so cute, and when you get near them, the mama bird acts like her wing is broken to distract you from her babies or eggs. Pictures included.

I think they're pretty cool birds. Not the brightest but pretty cool still.

I caught a mama, papa and three chicks in my dirt paddock a few weeks ago. First time in a long time I'd seen the chicks and not just the parents.

They are so cute, and I've seen the little "performance" once myself. Very impressive little birds!

That's so cool. I don't think I've ever even heard of killdeer birds.

Very cool. We have Killdeer out here but I've never seen the babies. Cute!

the babies look like little roadrunners, their all legs. My cats came too close and the mama played wounded too long. My Grandson was out ridding his little batter powered 4-wheeler and got to close to the barn and the swallows dive bombed him, Never hitting

we get them at the barn..i love them..and the noises they make!
however the swallows can leave, pack their nests and NEVER EVER EVER come back! i get attacked by them daily..and can you guess who is totally afraid of birds! LOL
they have nests everywhere..and when we take them down they just rebuild them..grrr..
