Anyone here show in CDE's?

Hi my barn recently got "Spot" a 32" 15year old mini gelding who is super cool! So since I show my full size horse CDE's we naturally want to get him into the VSE division!!
Is there anything I should know about mini's/VSE's that's diffrent then the bigger horses when it comes to conditioning for marathon? Any common health issues I should watch out for?
Also anyone have pic's/video's of their mini driving?? Oh and where can we get thoes super cute little splint boots? (he dosen't need them but they are sooo cute!!)

I'd love to learn how to drive! You're in a great area for it. I was fortunate to be able to go to Chesterton 3-Day years ago and was fascinated with the driving. Such a cool sport.

Talking VSE CDE's

I just started competing in VSE CDE's. Very fun and there are lots of wonderful participants in this sport. You should join one of the Yahoo.com groups for mini driving. You will get a ton of information from people who are just beginning or very seasoned competitors. They can tell you their routine's for getting your mini in shape for competition. 2 weeks ago, I participated in my first marathon, a 10K. Not all minis are suited for this sport just like not all full sized horses are jumpers. Some are like the energizer bunny and others are just little couch potatoes. Have fun with this, it is a great sport!
